Financial help is at hand for businesses who want to work more efficiently, attract new customers and make bigger profits.

The Council’s Business Development team is organising a breakfast event on 30th April at the Towers Hotel, Neath, for businesses to find out more about the broadband voucher scheme.

The voucher scheme is now up and running giving small and medium sized businesses the chance to apply for a grant of up to £3,000 to help them either install high speed connectivity or speed up their existing broadband connections.

The voucher scheme is also available to social enterprises, community Interest companies, charities, small office/home offices (SOHO’s) and sole traders.

It has been up and running in the Cardiff area for some time and it is now available across the whole of the Swansea Bay City Region.

Funded by Central Government, the grants cover wireless, fibre and Ethernet connections.

Gareth Nutt, Director of Environment, Neath Port Talbot Council said:

“Faster internet connections can benefit businesses in many ways and help them compete in the digital age. It will help them work more efficiently, provide better customer service and attract new customers.

The availability of this grant can give both small and large companies the opportunity to make the most of high speed connectivity and I would urge businesses to take advantage of the scheme.”

The breakfast event starts at 08.00am and to book a place, please email business@npt.gov.uk.
