Menter Moch Cymru is launching a series of ‘bite-sized’ training videos for pig keepers in Wales.

Over the coming months, a suite of short, practical videos will be available via the Menter Moch Cymru website (www.mentermochcymru.co.uk) and Facebook.

Covering all aspects of pig keeping and featuring experts from across the industry, the series begins this month with a video on the legal requirements of pig keeping led by pig specialist Bob Stevenson.

Future monthly videos focus on identification, biosecurity, health, indoor and outdoor rearing, breeding, farrowing, feeding, handling, and performance testing.

Said Elin Haf Jones, Menter Moch Cymru Development Officer, “As we are not currently able to hold face-to-face events, these practical videos have been designed to provide pig keepers with an additional source of information and advice on a variety of topics.

“The bite-sized videos will be posted regularly through to August via the Menter Moch Cymru website and Facebook so that pig keepers can watch them in their own time. We will also be posting updates on the Menter Moch Cymru social media channels and the Resource Hub section of the website.”

Menter Moch Cymru is funded by the Welsh Government Rural Communities – Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, which is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Welsh Government.
