With St. David’s Day fast approaching, now is the perfect time to shop Welsh. There are some amazing Welsh companies and businesses who stay true to their heritage and embrace the red, white and green every single day, not just on 1st March! Here are some of the best Welsh businesses you’ll find on the market:

Pembrokeshire Gin Co. (https://www.pembsginco.co.uk/) – Donned the ‘Best Gin in Wales’ (The Gin Guide Awards, 2020) you need to try this award-winning, craft-distilled goodness. The gin is available is two distinct flavours: Rosemary and Citrus (four citrus peels mixed with hand-foraged Welsh rosemary) and Welshcake (orange, currants, ginger and cinnamon).

Using original recipes and working with a distiller, Pembrokeshire Gin Co. stay true to their Welsh heritage, using locally sourced botanicals wherever possible. An extremely innovative brand, they are currently exploring options for another flavour addition to the small batch gin selection.

Awards received include a bronze medal by the IWSC (July 2019) and a silver medal in the Gin Masters by Spirits Business magazine.

The Olive Trust, Wales (https://www.theolivetrustwales.com/) – The Olive Trust put together surplus food parcels containing fresh fruit and vegetables that can contribute to healthier diets and communities. Promoting social inclusion, environmental concerns, health and wellbeing along with anti-discrimination education and equality, they compile recipes to go with the parcels. They have continued to help out with many local projects throughout the pandemic, including running Diabetes Workshops.
