The Welsh Government launched the Restrictions Business Fund NDR Grant to support businesses that were directly impacted by the national restrictions put in place on the 4th December, this was extended to include those impacted from the 19th December.
Following the First Minister’s announcement on Friday 29 January the NDR grant will have a further round of funding to assist non-essential retail, hospitality, leisure and tourism (NERHLT) businesses affected by the ongoing national restrictions. Supply chain businesses are eligible for this support if they have greater than 40% reduction in turnover during the restriction period. This is to provide financial support from 25th January until the end of March 2021.
Eligible businesses will receive the following payment dependant on their rateable value (RV):
- Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR) - RV £12,000 or less - £3,000
- RV between £12,001 and £51,000 - £5,000
- RV between £51,001 and £500,000. - £5,000
- This grant includes a new category of businesses that occupy properties with a rateable value between £150,001 and £500,000 – £5,000 *
Automatic payments
Businesses that were successfully awarded the Firebreak NDR grant (October – November 2020) and/or the Restrictions Business Fund NDR grant (December 2020 - January 2021) will receive an automatic payment. You do not need to complete an application form. We will start processing these payments during February.
Exceptions – businesses that must apply
You will need to apply if:
- You have NOT applied for either the Firebreak or Restrictions Business Fund NDR grant but are eligible for financial support. Our team will review your entitlement and you will be awarded a payment for the relevant period.
- If you are in the new category of businesses that occupy properties with a rateable value between £150,001 and £500,000
