Among the winners of WhoCanFixMyCar’s annual awards was Protyre, who emerged top in the Best National Group category, beating rivals like IN’n’OUT, Formula One Autocentres and Halfords in the process. The company provides, among other things, a means via which consumers can buy tyres online. With more than 157 garages spread across the UK, customers can easily get the tyres fitted having chosen them using the internet.
What were the categories?
There were twenty-four categories in total, covering every area of the United Kingdom. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland got their own ‘best garage’ categories, while England was split into several distinct regions. There were also awards for different specialisations within the mechanic professions, including ‘Best Clutch Specialist’ and ‘Best Cambelt Specialist’. There was also a special category for Independent ‘Hall of Fame’ garages.
All nominees and winners were chosen according to the number of jobs won on the WhoCanFixMyCar platform, factoring in the customer feedback received through the website. Since it was first founded all the way back in 2011, WhoCanFixMyCar.com has brought together millions of motorists with specially-selected local garages, of which more than fifteen thousand are listed on the site.
The service is there to help motorists to choose from a range of local garages, and to compare the quality of service offered, as well as the price. Quotes are delivered instantaneously, and there’s a messaging system through which you can speak directly to the garage involved.
How were the Awards Presented?
The awards were this year presented digitally, because of the danger of contagion that everyone in the UK – and the wider world – has had to live with. The absence of a lavish event has been good news for the charity Ben, to which the profits from the event have been diverted. The charity provides support for people in the industry, and any dependents.
For Protyre, the service has been a considerable boon. The company’s Retail Director, Simon Hiorns, was quick to praise the team behind Protyre for earning some long-deserved recognition.
“We are thrilled with this award. We work hard to deliver our customers the best customer experience and to deliver great value. So, to do so well against the judging criteria […] shows that our teams are succeeding in delivering high standards of service at a great price. I am delighted for the team and thank them for their hard work in what has been a testing year.”
This isn’t the first time that the Protyre brand has been recognised. In late 2020, the Motor Ombudsman announced that team Protyre had stood out in both the East and in the Midlands, for offering exceptional levels of service and going above and beyond the call of duty in either case.
