From tomorrow energy prices are set to rise for millions of households as Ofgem raises the price cap to pre-pandemic levels. Max Green, energy expert at Confused.com says:
âOur research found that a third of UK adults spent 57% (ÂŁ36) more than usual on their energy bills each month during lockdown last year. And even thought restrictions are starting to ease this time around, plenty of people will still be shielding or working from home for a while to come. This means extra screen time and more home cooking, which all adds up to a significant sum on our energy bills.
âEven if the price cap doesnât affect you, the best way to save money is to shop around as itâs likely that weâll see fixed tariff rates go down and new deals come to market. And if you donât switch, you will automatically be put on a default tariff at the end of your current tariff, so itâs important to keep an eye out for a better offer.
âBetween new regulations and the different types of tariff available, choosing the best deal can be confusing. Our guide takes you through all the types of energy tariff, so at least you can make a clear choice on which one works best for you.â
