Three people are currently in police custody following a disturbance in Neath which left eight people – including three officers – injured.

Police were called to Windsor Road, Neath, shortly after 6.30pm on Monday, April 12, following reports of an assault.

On arrival, three suspects were identified but continued to act violently and resisting arrest, resulting in a Taser being discharged.

Three officers sustained minor injuries during the incident.
Five other people were injured during the initial incident and arrest, though none required hospital treatment.

A 22-year-old man from Briton Ferry was arrested on suspicion of four counts of assault and three counts of assaulting an emergency worker, while a 37-year-old woman from Port Talbot and 20-year-old man from Briton Ferry were arrested on suspicion of assault. All three remain in custody.

A number of enquiries are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the incident but has not yet given an account to police is asked to contact police quoting occurrence 2100126688.

Anyone with any dashcam, mobile phone or CCTV footage which could assist the investigation is also urged to come forward.
