A Cardiff barber has raised over £2000 for Action for Children after encouraging friends to run 10 kilometres with him for the leading children’s charity. Francis Crimmins from the Barber Lounge in Fairwater decided to use lockdown to keep up his fitness and help causes close to his heart.

Francis requested that the money is used by Action for Children’s Cardiff-based ‘Ymbarel’ service for families with parents who have additional learning needs to take some of the vulnerable families on a trip to Legoland. Ymbarel supports families where the parents have a learning disability or additional learning needs.

Nina Rice, Regional Manager for Action for Children in South Wales said: ‘We are so grateful to Francis for raising such a superb total for Action for Children. The Legoland trip will allow our families to have so much fun safely supervised by our staff and help them make some wonderful memories after being locked down for so long. Our huge thanks go to Francis, all his friends who ran with him, and those who supported and donated to this brilliant cause.’
