Official partnership with KICT sealed: Great honour for AiroDoctor
The renowned Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT) declares to include AiroDoctor as one of about 20 official partner companies in its ranks. This partnership will allow AiroDoctor developers to access the networks and technological and scientific resources of the South Korean research institute. In addition, KICT will include the AiroDoctor in its public relations activities.
“The AiroDoctor is a special air purifier because it is exceptionally effective at eliminating airborne pathogens. These include coronavirus, but also other viruses and bacteria such as E. coli, salmonella, rota virus and norovirus.” – Lee Hae-bon, research director at KICT
Partnership solidifies long-standing collaboration
The KICT Research Institute promotes business and social welfare in South Korea, contributing research and expertise to economic growth and improving living standards in the East Asian country. This includes supporting small and medium-sized enterprises with personnel, technological and scientific assistance. Another goal of these collaborations is to increase networking between companies and promote them.
“We are very honored to become an official partner company of KICT. With the help of its renowned scientists and access to innovative technology and research opportunities, we can quickly and reliably achieve new goals with AiroDoctor.” – Carsten Hermann, Managing Director ScreenSource GmbH
AiroDoctor: A transnational success story
Development of the photocatalytic filter began in 2017 under the leadership of biochemist Eddie Kim, now vice president at AiroDoctor. Starting in 2019, ScreenSource GmbH from Saxony-Anhalt will be involved in product development.
The planned market launch of the air purifier is accelerated due to current events in March 2020: the AiroDoctor will already be used in South Korean emergency centers at the beginning of the pandemic, and one month later the innovative air purifier will also be sold in Germany. Through partnerships with well-known distributors, growth in Europe and North America will be secured worldwide in late summer 2020. The long-standing collaboration between AiroDoctor and KICT then resulted in an official KICT partnership at the end of 2020. In the future, KICT will support the AiroDoctor team with direct access to technological resources, regular knowledge transfer, and research and development support.
AiroDoctor® is a trademark of ScreenSource GmbH based in Germany with offices in Germany, USA and South Korea. With its technological lead, the company has succeeded in the field of UV-A LED photocatalysis to achieve breakthrough results. The complete disinfection of air and elimination of infectious aerosols is a milestone. The close cooperation with the South Korean KICT, a governmental institute, has been a key driver.
Today, the solutions offered by ScreenSource GmbH are distributed worldwide and range from innovative display products to professional air purification solutions such as the AiroDoctor, which incorporates the technology used by governments and public institutions internationally in the fight to reduce the risk of SARS-CoV-2 (Coronavirus) infections and has been officially recommended since 2020.
