Cardiff revealed as best city in the UK for brunch-loving Brits in new study

Restaurants across the country are preparing to welcome us back for brunch, but which cities are offering the best brunch options and where can you get the best bang for your boozy buck?

A new study by drinks retailer, The Bottle Club, has revealed the top cities in the UK for brunching, bottomless and otherwise;

The study takes a deep dive into TripAdvisor data, and has revealed Cardiff is the best city in the UK for brunch (Brewhouse, Cardiff coming out as the top bottomless brunch spot in the city), scoring highly across the board on a variety of amenities available for brunch lovers across the city – the study found over 63% of Cardiff’s brunch spots offer vegan options and over 60% offer gluten-free.

The study has also revealed the best independent bottomless brunch spots in Cardiff, using a variety of different factors (such as; price, outdoor seating availability and number of options on the bottomless brunch menu) to score each spot /100.

According to The Bottle Club‘s Bottomless Brunch Index rankings, these are the top 5 independent eateries in Cardiff for bottomless brunch:

1 Top Spot: Brewhouse, Cardiff 

Brewhouse is well known in the Cardiff area – described as an ‘upbeat watering hole’, this brewhouse is the place to be – especially for bottomless brunch-lovers. They came out as the top independent in Cardiff for bottomless brunch when ranked using The Bottle Club’s bottomless brunch index ranking*, with the highest ‘instagram-ability factor’ of all the brunch spots in Cardiff.

For £25 on Saturdays and Sundays, you can enjoy brunch in the form of bottomless pizza – choose from several different pizzas, accompanied by unlimited Cors, Sol, aperol spritz, pink G&T, pornstar martini or prosecco.

2 Pitch, Cardiff

This eatery in Cardiff is highly-rated on TripAdvisor for a reason. Pitch is a Cardiff based cocktail bar and restaurant serving the best of simple – yet delicious – Welsh cuisine.

For £25 you can enjoy a truly bottomless brunch where you can fill your boots with prosecco alongside your brunch. They cater for everyone with options including a full Welsh, veggie or vegan breakfast – or pancake stacks for those with a sweeter tooth.

3 The Philharmonic, Cardiff

Associated with being Cardiff’s favourite restaurant bar and club, The Philharmonic has a vibrant sunny terrace, perfect for bottomless brunch in the sun this summer.

Their bottomless brunch offering is one of the best in the city, allowing customers to choose any brunch, philly deli or main dish, as well as a choice of dessert and numerous drinks to choose from – all for £30 (£35 if you fancy a round of champagne).

4 Culley’s Kitchen and Bar 

Located in Cardiff’s coal exchange, Culley’s Bar and Kitchen offers a mixture of classic and modern dishes to please every guest.

For £30 you get free-flowing prosecco throughout your entire brunch as well as a wide choice of food options ranging from your brunch classic avocado toast, to full Welsh breakfast and their Culley’s Club sandwich (fried chicken, maple bacon, slaw, sriracha mayo, fries).

5 The Brook Bistro and Bar

The Brook Bistro and Bar is yet another great independent in Cardiff offering a tidy bottomless brunch menu. For £25.95 you can treat yourself to a two course brunch and bottomless prosecco – they have a variety of different options including vegan and gluten free options available upon request.

They are going through a revamp but are due to open soon – watch this space, they may just be the new most instagrammable spot in Cardiff.
