Lovell Homes’ Golwg Y Bryn development in Ebbw Vale
Placemaking involves working collaboratively across sectors and disciplines to consider the future development of distinctive and vibrant places. A part of placemaking is ensuring that each new development contributes positively to creating or enhancing environments within which people, communities, businesses and nature can thrive. It places people at the heart of the process and results in places that have a clear identity and where people can develop a sense of belonging.
The Placemaking Wales Charter has been developed by the Welsh Government and theĀ Design Commission for WalesĀ in collaboration with the Placemaking Wales Partnership, and reflects organisationsā commitments to support the development of high-quality places across Wales. It outlines six placemaking principles, focused on people and community, location, movement, mix of uses, public realm and identity, all of which contribute to establishing and maintaining good places.
In signing the Placemaking Wales Charter, Lovell agrees to support placemaking in all relevant areas of its work and promote the six placemaking principles in the planning, design and management of its new and existing developments.
