Police in Swansea are continuing to investigate the discovery of a cannabis factory at a house in the Uplands area.

Officers executed a warrant at the property in Mirador Crescent on Saturday 20th June where they found a sophisticated cannabis growing operation with around 400 plants.

Six rooms of the house had been kitted out with cannabis growing equipment, with specialist lighting and fans.

Local policing sergeant David Butt said:

“We received information about this property from the local community and a warrant was executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

“Inside the property we discovered a substantial cannabis factory containing a lighting, feeding and venting system.”

An investigation is now continuing and police are appealing to anyone who may have seen suspicious activity at the property to come forward.

Sergeant Butt added:

“Members of the public should report any information in relation to drugs to their local neighbourhood policing team, all information will be treated confidentially. No matter how insignificant or significant you may feel the information is, we want to know and we will act on that information.

“The community being alert to the signs of cannabis production is essential. No production facility can be totally inconspicuous especially in a residential area. There are always tell tale signs, from the strong smell given off by cannabis plants, to blacked-out windows, unusual refuse left outside, and suspicious comings and goings.”

Anyone with information should call 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting occurrence number 1500219640.
