On Friday 19th June three piece punk rock band Grim Citizens in their matching black and green attire opened up an evening of live entertainment. The Masons wasn’t as busy as had been hoped, but Grim Citizens and Daddy’s Little Cowboy rocked it to the full.
Grim Citizens played an extended set, sampling some new songs for the first time. The band played a mix of original tunes including the catchy ‘Sing’ with its ‘Lalalala’ hooks and some covers spanning the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s which included a great  cover version of  Massive Attack’s Teardrop.

Here’s some of the views of those at the venue on the night…..
Grim Citizens
‘ Nice to hear something different. It’s f***ing lovely. The bassist/vocalist is like Jack Bruce but with a nicer voice.’ Rich Grinter
‘ On the whole they were f***ing good. I’ve been seeing major bands since the age of 14 and I have seen the best and I can honestly say that these guys are creeping close to that.’ Paul Thomas

Daddy’s Little Cowboy
Daddy’s Little Cowboy consisting of members of Trackstar/Pornstar and 100,000 Bodybags headlined the night. The band played a full set of  fun and entertaining punky cover versions of tunes  including 99 Red Balloons, Kids in America, Time warp, A Little Respect, YMCA, Runaway and Delilah.
