The Chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council has set up a Facebook page to keep residents up to date with his activities over the course of his year in office.
Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths said the move would allow people to see the range of responsibilities of the Chairman.
He said: “I will be leading the official activity of the council in various ways – through chairing meetings of the Council and then representing the Council in all sorts of events. Many of these will be held outside the county of course. Also there will be the opportunity to receive and welcome people to Carmarthenshire and to the Chairman’s Room in County Hall.
“I hope residents of the county will take the chance to follow me and come to know more about the responsibilities and life of the Chairman.”
