Action for Children’s Wales Finance team have met in person for the first time in over a year on the summit of Pen y Fan.
The team, consisting of Huw Perry, Alun Bennett and Clark Gilmour, wanted to reunite somewhere special and chose the highest point in South Wales at 6am on the 9th June, raising nearly £700 for Action for Children in the process.
Huw said: ‘Having been inspired by the efforts of our colleagues over the last year or so, continuing to deliver critical services throughout the pandemic, we chose the top of Pen y Fan as a unique place to hold a meeting after working from home since March 2020.
‘We met at 5am and it was a steady climb until the final push which was a killer! However, there was a magical point at which the clouds lifted, the sun broke through and the views opened up all around us. It was great fun with fabulous views and so good to catch up and reunite as a team, away from Teams! To raise nearly £700 has been a brilliant bonus, we’re very grateful to everyone who supported us.’
