Leading partnership homes developerĀ LovellĀ is celebrating the second win of Senior Site Manager Paul Haden at this yearā€™s NHBC (National House Building Council)Ā Pride in the Job Quality Awards, following his first win in 2020.

Paul Haden, Senior Site Manager at Lovell

Paul Haden has been selected from a field of more than 10,000 UK site managers and is now amongst 450 who have won a Quality Award, representing the top 5% of those who entered. Paul has now received a Quality Award two years in a row, after also winning last year.

As the most highly regarded competition in the industry, the Pride in the Job Awards celebrate the vital role that site managers play in the building of high quality new homes, ensuring they are delivered on time, on safe sites and to exacting construction standards.

The judging process for these awards began in July 2020, and each site manager was evaluated on their consistency, attention to detail, technical expertise, leadership, interpretation and health and safety skills.

Paul Haden works as a Senior Site Manager at Lovell Homesā€™ popularĀ Ymyl Yr AfonĀ development in Merthyr Vale, which has seen huge success. All of the open market sale properties expect for the showhomes have now sold, marking the completion of this site far ahead of schedule.

Paul said: ā€œIā€™m honoured to have received this level of recognition from such an important industry body. It really does highlight everything the site team has achieved and it is a testament to the successful teamwork between our on-site team, subcontractors and office-based colleagues.

ā€œThis achievement is definitely one of the proudest moments in my career and Iā€™m so thankful for the support and talent of the team working alongside me at Ymyl Yr Afon.ā€

James Duffett, regional manging director at Lovell, said:Ā ā€œI am exceptionally proud that our incredible Senior Site Manager, Paul, has been chosen as a Pride in the Job Quality Award winner for the second year in a row.

ā€œThis year more than ever, the Pride in the Job Awards are exceptionally relevant as the construction industry deals with the ongoing challenges presented by the pandemic. For Paul to receive this honour during the most difficult time is an even bigger testament to his skill and commitment to creating quality new homes that people can feel proud to call home.

ā€œThis award not only recognises Paulā€™s dedication, passion, leadership and commitment to produce homes of exceptional quality at Ymyl Yr Afon, but is the most valued industry accolade a site manager can achieve. I wish Paul the best of luck in the next stage of completion.ā€

Commenting on the Awards, NHBC Chief ExecutiveĀ Steve WoodĀ said: ā€œPride in the Job has been pivotal in improving the quality of new homes for more than 40 years. Despite the numerous challenges the industry has faced, the very best site managers of 2021 have remained focused on delivering high quality new homes for their customers.

ā€œAt NHBC we are very proud of Pride in the Job, what it stands for and the impact it has across the sector. Pride in the Job winning sites have higher levels of homeowner satisfaction as these homes are among the very best in the country.

ā€œCongratulations to all the 2021 Pride in the Job Quality Award winners ā€“ be proud of what you are building and the standards you are setting.ā€

Pride in the Job Quality Awards winners will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards, which will be announced across 11 regional events set to take place in autumn. The national Supreme Awards will then be revealed at the Pride in the Job Gala in January 2022.

Ymyl Yr Afon is a Ā£25 million development including a mix of 110 open market homes and 43 affordable homes, which are being developed in partnership with Merthyr Tydfil Housing Association.
