A new online service has been launched allowing tenants of Pembrokeshire County Council properties to check their housing rent balance.

The facility is provided on ‘My Account’ – an easy way of accessing online services provided by Pembrokeshire County Council, at www.pembrokeshire.gov.uk

Cllr Alison Lee, Cabinet Member for Housing, said the service was very useful and simple to use.

“It allows people to see how much rent they owe, pay it online quickly and easily, and access other housing and tenancy information,” she said.

More than 250 people signed up for the new facility within a week of it going live, with feedback including ‘really useful’, ‘good payment system’ and ‘easy to use’.

The feature is just one of many online services provided on the Pembrokeshire County Council website through ‘My Account’.

Other services include paying council tax, reporting a broken street light or missed bin collection, or requesting a bulky waste collection. Users can also pay for Council services, sign up for waste collection reminders, Cleddau Bridge closure messages, alerts for Choice Homes@Pembrokeshire vacancies and much more.

Gareth Johnson, Web Manager, said it just takes a couple of minutes to register for ‘My Account’.

“All you need to get started is an email address, and then you can access online Council services 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” he said.

“Over 14,350 customers have activated their online account since it launched just over 18 months ago and we’ve had great feedback from many of them about how it’s made life easier.”
