Children from Tavernspite and Templeton primary schools recently enjoyed a tour of Pembrokeshire County Council’s County Hall with the Chairman of the Authority.
Cllr Wynne Evans took the pupils and their teachers around various departments, including housing, highways, education and social services – introducing them to members of staff and explaining what they do.
They also visited the Council’s call centre and observed a meeting of the Planning and Rights of Way committee.
Mrs Arthur, deputy headteacher of Tavernspite and Templeton, said the pupils – who are all school council members – had received a warm welcome and enjoyed their trip.
“It’s been a great opportunity for the children to see the variety of jobs and all the different things going on,” she said.
