WORKSHOP OUTLINE
Aim:
- To introduce entrepreneurs and business owners to the basic principles of accessing business finance and inform them of the financing options available to companies in Wales.
Objectives:
- To communicate a number of key messages to participants to ensure they understand the central concepts, principles and practices of business finance and are equipped with sufficient basic knowledge to successfully approach finance organisations, especially, but not exclusively, banks.
- After attending the seminar delegates will understand:
- The principles and realities of risk and reward and how it impacts all forms of business finance.
- The key variables which influence the decisions of business finance organisations and how to address these successfully.
- The main sources of finance and funding options for companies in Wales.
- The basic processes involved in application.
The Seminar will be structured as follows:

15:10 -15:30, The principles of risk and reward and their impact on the full spectrum of business finance from secured Bank lending through to venture capital
15:30 -15:45, Group exercise

16:00 -16:20, Business Finance DVD
16:20 -16:40, DVD debrief exercise
16:40 -17:00, Bank Finance. The Do’s and Don’ts of raising Bank Finance
