Project Centre, the leading streetscape design, engineering and landscape architecture consultancy and part of Marston Holdings, has been announced as Employer of the Year at the 2021 Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) Awards.  This accolade recognises organisations that have made outstanding efforts to engage with their employees and takes into account how investing in people through health and wellbeing, skills, training, diversity and inclusion initiatives have made a positive contribution to the company, industry and society as a whole.

“We are delighted to win this prestigious award which recognises how our people-focused ethos has been successfully embedded across the organisation,” commented Keith Hanshaw, Managing Director of Project Centre.  “Our greatest strength is the people we employ and we are committed to equality of opportunity and employment with a workplace free from discrimination.”

Project Centre has grown rapidly over the last five years and now has over 230 employees working at six office locations strategically located across the UK.

With a clear focus on learning and development, Project Centre is committed to creating a more inclusive workplace and increasing staff happiness and retention.  It has also implemented key initiatives including an Equality and Inclusion Group, a Women’s Learning and Development Network and a Senior Leadership Mentoring programme.

“We have made a concerted effort to engage and listen to our people and ensure they feel happy, supported and challenged,” continued Hanshaw.  “This approach is working and our ongoing staff surveys show that they are increasingly happier and more likely to stay with us.  Combined with our Group Investors in People Platinum accreditation, we’re honoured to be recognised in this way by the CIHT.”
