There is a proposal before Carmarthenshire County Council to build an inert waste recycling plant in an old disused quarry on the border of Llandybie. Since it fell into disuse this quarry has reverted to a nature reserve full of wildlife, an asset to residents and local fauna alike.
Most of us who live locally are very anxious about this development which will destroy what has become a haven for wildlife, make a considerable amount of noise and dust pollution and produce a significant increase in heavy traffic in our quiet village.
