Thanks to a community grant from The Co-op, Hywel Dda Health Charities has been able to provide a Butterfly Memory Trolley for Enlli ward, the older adult mental health ward at Bronglais Hospital.
The trolley, which has been stocked with games, puzzles and other distraction items, is taken around the ward, so patients can choose what they would like to use.
Enlli ward clerk Ann Elias said: “The trolley has been well-received by patients, many of whom are bed-ridden. They love having different activities to do.
“The trolley is used by nurses, therapists and health care support workers, to help engage with patients and provide mental stimulation through a variety of different sensory experiences.
“We are grateful to the Co-op for the community grant of £1,243.”
