Delta Lakes

Landscaping works to the Delta Lakes site and Coastal Link Road in Llanelli are progressing.

The scheme aims to create an attractive site entrance into this future employment site using local Pennant sandstone to construct the walling, remove some of the existing vegetation in particular the dense shrubs along the coastal link road and replace with structural tree planting and ground cover.

The comprehensive soft planting scheme along the highway verge will facilitate views of the Llanelli Joint Venture’s Delta Lakes site and complement the new residential development being constructed on the south side of the carriageway.

Programme Development Officer Catherine Jones said: “The clearance works have been timed to avoid any disturbance of wild birds and following some earthworks, replacement landscaping will be undertaken in November to allow the scheme to be completed in one planting season in accordance with the planning conditions.”
