Dyfed Powys Police is looking for new members for its Independent Advisory Group (IAG).

The Dyfed Powys Independent Advisory Group (IAG) provides the valuable role of critical friend to the Police Service and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC).

It is a forum where independent advisors can give independent advice about specific issues identified by the Police and the OPCC.

The force is looking for membership of the IAG to be broadly representative of the diverse communities it serves in terms of age, disability, gender, gender identity, race, religion or belief and sexual orientation.

The role of the IAG is not one of scrutiny, but provides a safeguard against disadvantaging any section of our communities through a lack of understanding, ignorance or mistaken belief.

Angharad Lewis, Dyfed Powys Police’s Equality and Diversity Manager, said: “We are looking for individuals who are independent of the police and willing to contribute time, energy and commitment to attend regular meetings; people who are committed to making a difference to the way that policing services are delivered.”

Those interested in becoming a member of the IAG can apply online: http://www.dyfed-powys.police.uk/en/about-us/equality-and-diversity/independent-advisory-group-iag/

For further information or to obtain a hard copy of the application pack, contact the Equality and Diversity team at equalityanddiversity@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.uk or on 101 (option 3, Extension 23176).
