YOU CAN NOW GET AN ENGAGEMENT RING INSPIRED BY YOUR PARTNER’S FAVOURITE CAR
Scrap Car Comparison has launched a new service that enables car lovers to create a bespoke ring designed to look like the motor closest to their other half’s heart
A new service has been launched by Scrap Car Comparison that enables car lovers to propose with an engagement ring designed to resemble their partner’s favourite car.
Partnering with Edward Fleming, an engagement jeweller with over 15 years’ experience, to make the service possible, the UK-based scrap car company has launched the service to provide the opportunity to people who have had to scrap or say goodbye to a beloved vehicle, to be able to wear something that reminds them of their favourite motor at all times.
The service can also be used to create a wedding or engagement ring that resembles your partner’s favourite motor, aiming to ‘pair romance with a ring reminiscent of the revving of your partner’s favourite engine’.
For years, materials from the catalytic converters found in scrapped car exhausts have been recycled and used in the making of standard wedding and engagement rings, however this new service takes things a step further, helping to create bespoke designs mirroring the aesthetics of any car model.
To show off what is possible with the new service, Scrap Car Comparison has shared three examples of what potential engagement rings could look like if they were inspired by three well-known car models: the Ford Fiesta, the original Mini Cooper and the lavish Lamborghini Huracán.
Each customer’s motor-inspired ring design will be unique to the next, with the ring examples showing how design cues can be taken from a specific brand or car model.
The example products demonstrate how features, such as the Mini Copper’s iconic Minilight alloy wheel design, can be used as a diamond setting, or how to make use of supercar’s carbon fibre detailing to create a truly special statement piece. The Fiesta ST ring echoes the model’s headlight design, and features the manufacturer’s bold logo colour. Like the cars, the rings will even be available with optional extras, such as personalised number plate engravings on the inner-band of the ring.
Dan Gick, Managing Director of Scrap Car Comparison commented:
“On a daily basis we meet customers that are gutted to be saying goodbye to their cars, and leave the scrap yard wishing they could take a piece of it with them. As parts of modern scrapped cars are recycled and used in wedding and engagement rings already, it made perfect sense to us to take this interesting aspect of scrappage a step further, and give customers the chance to create the most romantic memento of their favourite motor. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but cars are a very big part of some people’s lives, and even their relationships, so we’re excited to offer the new service and make some happy moments even happier!”
The ‘Petrolhead Proposals’ service will be available to a limited time this autumn/fall season. To find out more and register interest in the service, visit: www.scrapcarcomparison.co.uk/blog/petrol-head-proposals
