Enjoy fireworks responsibly

We are working with Dyfed Powys Police and Mid and West Wales Fire Brigade to ensure everyone stays safe this Halloween and bonfire night. Remember to enjoy fireworks safely and responsibly, respect your neighbours, protect your NHS and emergency services.

Here some handy tips to stay safe:

• • Go to an organised public display instead of holding your own, often these displays are far more dazzling and safer
  • If you are buying fireworks then purchase them from a reputable retailer that’s registered with the local authority. Also, ensure they carry the CE mark
  • Consider you surroundings and avoid buying noisy fireworks, your retailer will be able to advise
  • Think about the noise levels and the unexpected nature of fireworks which can often leave vulnerable people and pets feeling scared and anxious.
  • Tell your neighbours if you plan to hold your own display well in advance so they can make necessary arrangements

Fireworks can frighten pets and other animals. If you are holding a firework party tell your neighbours in advance. Ensure they are safely away from fireworks and inside the home

Using fireworks at home? Let your neighbours know ahead

If you are unable to get to an organised public display then use them responsibly. Avoid prolonged displays and keep a bucket of water nearby. Keep fireworks away from children

Don’t get burnt! Buy fireworks from reputable retailers

Only buy them from local authority registered sellers. They can cause damage to property and harm people and animals. Check for the CE mark. Avoid buying noisy ones
