KEEP WALES TIDY / TIDY TOWNS EVENTS IN AUGUST 2015 (CARMARTHENSHIRE)

10th – River cleanup: Glanamman – https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.806983,-3.924608&hl=en&num=1&t=m&z=16 (Entrance to Ger Yr Afon). (10am – 12pm). Some tools and equipment will be available, but if possible please bring gloves and waders / wellingtons.

11th – Cleanup: Llundain Fach, Llanelli – https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zKZKytycWDzY.kSawO03rIc7U&usp=sharing (Park at top of Pleasant View). (10am – 12pm). Tools and equipment will be available but please bring gloves if possible.

12th – Working party: Morfa Berwig – https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=51.669894,-4.107728&hl=en&num=1&t=m&z=16 (End of Berwick Road). (10am – 3pm). We will be on site undertaking activities such as grass / tree cutting, litter picking, improving fencing / paths and removing overgrown vegetation. Tools and equipment will be provided, but if possible please bring gloves. This event is unsuitable for young children.

17th – Cleanup / path clearance: Bro Einon, Llanybydder – https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zKZKytycWDzY.k4rFaf-mHlFo&usp=sharing (Woodland entrance, rear of housing estate). (10am – 12pm). A focus will be on litter clearance and opening up overgrown paths. Some tools and equipment will be available, but if possible please bring gloves, loppers, shovel, spade, hoe, rake.

18th – Waste & tyre amnesty – Newcastle Emlyn – https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=52.038488,-4.47018&hl=en&num=1&t=h&z=17 (Main car park). (8am – 1pm). Most household waste can be taken along including unwanted furniture, carpets and mattresses, electrical items such as fridge-freezers and televisions, garden waste and tyres (maximum 4 tyres per household).
However, paint, garden chemicals, car batteries, gas bottles, asbestos, construction and trade waste will not be accepted.

19th – Cleanup: Carway Hall – https://mapsengine.google.com/map/edit?mid=zO7n4wa9bGmo.krywIK9Bz6Co (Hall). (10am – 2pm).  A cleanup will be held to clear moss and overgrowth from around the hall. Some tools and equipment will be available, but if possible please bring gloves, hoe, rake, spade, shovel, scraper, brush.

(10am – 12pm). Work will include litter picking and vegetation removal). Some tools and equipment will be available but if possible please bring gloves, rake, shovel, loppers, spade.

24th – Cleanup: Maescader, Pencader – https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zKZKytycWDzY.kFSo2zChua2w&usp=sharing  (Right turning after entrance to estate). (10am – 12pm). Tools and equipment will be provided but please bring gloves if possible.

26th – Cleanup: Caecoed, Llandybie – https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zKZKytycWDzY.kGXkCMuoCSHY&usp=sharing (Large parking area). (10am – 12pm). Tools and equipment will be provided but please bring gloves if possible.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE MEETING POINTS ON SOME MAPS ARE WHERE THE ARROW IS POINTING, NOT POINT A.

All (unless otherwise stated) are welcome to join the above events. You are welcome to stay for the duration or any time you can give will be greatly received. For all day events (those that continue after 12pm), please bring lunch as we don’t provide this, and the work locations are often not near food outlets / shops.

If you arrive after the designated start time, please ring 07824 504805 or 07887 932066 when you arrive in case we have moved on to a different part of the site, or come and look for us.

End times are just a guide and events / work days may end earlier if the job is finished.

Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult. 

You are covered under Keep Wales Tidy / community group insurance while at these events.

Please dress sensibly to suit the weather conditions on the day. Suitable footwear should also be worn (not sandals / flip flops, formal shoes); safety boots are ideal, but anything fairly rugged will be acceptable.

* You must bring your own PPE for using strimmer (gloves / long sleeve top / face & ear protection). If using a brushcutter (strimmer with blade) you must bring along a LANTRA or NPTC certificate of competence. Failure to do so will result in the insurance being invalid.
