Scarlets’ Community Team will head north this week (6th & 7th August) as part of a busy summer schedule.

Following the second Summer Rugby Camp, held in Aberystwyth on Wednesday, the region’s staff will head north in readiness for the first of four training sessions starting on Thursday morning supported by RGC1404.

The two-day visit will see Scarlets’ Community team provide free rugby skills sessions for the mini sections at Bethesda RFC, Nant Conwy RFC, Denbigh RFC and Mold RFC as a thank you for their support in recent seasons.

Each club will receive a complimentary two hour training session, use of the Scarlets inflatable, an opportunity to purchase Scarlets merchandise as well as pose for photographs with mascot Cochyn!

Daniel Vaughan, Scarlets Community Manager, said: “Scarlets has a close and long-standing affinity with North Wales and we are delighted to be making a return this summer.

“The four clubs receiving training sessions on this occasion have been particularly supportive in recent seasons and this is an opportunity for us to say thank you and give something back to grassroots rugby in North Wales.

“We hope to make it an annual visit going forward enabling us to run free training sessions at different clubs during each time.”

Rupert Moon, WRU General Manager for North Wales development region, added: “A number of famous Scarlet North Walians migrated South before Eirias was developed and its great that the Scarlets recognise its important to say thanks for developing and supporting them. There is a huge appetite for rugby here in North Wales as proved by growth of RGC and the sell-out crowds for recent Wales Under 20s Six Nations fixtures.”
