Telephone and Computer Scams, beware!
Carmarthen police are investigating a reported incident in the Pencader area where the victim has received a telephone call from an international number stating that he had won money on the World Lottery.
The man then parted with a total of £1050 in four separate sums, which was paid by international money transfer through Western Union and Paypoint on seperate occassions. The money was transferred to Delhi, India.
The second incident relates to an e-mail from HMRC,GOV which stated that the recepient was due a refund,and to click on an address to claim the amount. This is a scam!
Please do not make contact and do not give personal or bank details to cold callers.
