in aid of Calon Heart Screening and Defibrillators – The Heart Charity for Wales
LLANDAFF’s High Street will be the stage for the village’s Christmas lights turn on this year! Join us on Wednesday 17th November from 5:30pm (Light switch on at 6:30pm) to support Calon Hearts Screening and Defibrillators Wales in what promises to be an entertaining evening filled with local talent.
BBC Wales Lucy Owen will be switching on the lights and there will also be performances from local school choirs, singers and The Rock Choir. The performance area will be outside The Llandaff Institute where the beautiful Christmas tree will be switched on at 6.30pm.
There will even be a visit from the man himself Father Christmas!
Many of the shops, restaurants and cafes will be open so that visitors can escape the chill and get a hot drink (including mulled wine), food or do some early Christmas gift shopping.
This event is being organised by Llandaff Village Events Association who are supporting Calon Hearts Charity who will be launching their Christmas Hearts of Gold Appeal and will have bucket collectors at the event. All money collected will go towards funding a further defibrillator for the top of Llandaff village and a heart screening session to be held in Llandaff.
Businesses hope that this year’s Christmas lights will help boost their businesses after a tough 18 months. The event organisers are hoping that the Christmas lights switch on will raise the village’s profile and raise vital funds for hearts in Wales – Please come and support the evening
