They’ll be Singha-ing on the terraces with top rugby on S4C

As S4C and the nation gears up for the 2015 Rugby World Cup, the rugby-loving channel will hit the ground running with top class 7s action.

The Singha Premiership Rugby 7s series will be live on S4C on Saturday 15 August from Cardiff when Wales will host the Welsh leg of this year’s series, with the four regions battling it out over an afternoon of summertime derby rugby.

Gareth Roberts and the team will present all the action over three hours from 3pm as the Ospreys, Scarlets, Blues and Dragons compete against each other at the BT Sport Arms Park.

Two of the four regions will progress to the series final, now in its fifth year, at the Twickenham Stoop on August 28. There will be highlights of finals day on S4C on 30 August.

Last year, the Blues and Dragons made it to the finals day that saw Gloucester crowned champions.

S4C’s Sports Editor, Sue Butler says, “Last year’s tournament saw thrilling derby clashes and we’re delighted to be broadcasting this competition once again. It is a great chance for an early glimpse of our regional rugby stars in action.”

The Singha Premiership Rugby 7s Series in Wales will be produced by Sunset & Vine Cymru for S4C.
