Recently relocated from London’s West End showland to Pembrokeshire, Professional Conductor and Presenter of the world famous London Pops Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra and West End Musicals Ian McMillan, is bringing his Christmas in Hollywood! programme to The Cathedral on Monday December 20 at 7.30pm in association with their Christmas Festival.
Put on your sparkle, tinsel or tiara and join us for a toe – tapping Yuletide programme of favourite Christmas ‘evergreen’ songs and music from Broadway musicals and Hollywood films for everyone to enjoy and hum along (even this year as ‘masked singers’!) guaranteed to get you in the Festive Mood including; White Christmas, Walkin’ In a Winter Wonderland, Santa Claus is Comin’ To Town, Sleigh Ride, Frosty The Snowman, Jingle Bells, Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer & many more!
Following sell out performances at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham’s Symphony Hall and
Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall, St David’s is anticipating a huge demand for seats for this unique entertainment which is to be performed by the Cardiff based 26 piece British Sinfonietta,
St David’s ShowVoices! ( in their glittering shirts!) and city favourite vocal group, Vox Angelica directed by Arwel Davies.
It is also hoped that his workload pending, Santa and The Sugar Plum Fairy may even pop by for a song or two…?!
Ian McMillan is the ideal host to Present and Conduct the show, having been Musical Director for numerous West End London Shows, Films and TV, including Song and Dance for Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Oliver! for Sir Cameron Mackintosh (working with showbiz icon Lionel Bart and comedians Russ Abbot and Gary Wilmot), Kavanagh QC (where he acted alongside John Thaw), and
The Last of The Blondbombshells with Dames Judi Dench and Cleo Laine.
He has also toured internationally for several years with former Bond Girl Honor Blackman, conducted Hollywood dance legend Cyd Charisse on BBCTV’s Royal Variety Show, and spent a year conducting Tommy Steele and Roy Castle in ‘Singin In The Rain’ at The London Palladium.
He also conducted The New York City Pops and cast of The Phantom of The Opera on Broadway having worked with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in creating their roles for the original London West End show.
Admission by ticket, £20 (nave), £15 (side aisles) can be booked and collected in advance from

Advance booking is strongly advised as demand is expected to be high.
Any tickets if still available may be purchased when doors open at 6.45pm.
The performance lasts 75 minutes with no interval.
