A visit to Nana Baubles is a festive feast for the eyes as she decks not just the halls but walls, ceilings and multiple Christmas trees with her bumper collection of baubles. Sylvia spends months hanging the shiny spheres every year, starting in September to ensure the house is merry and bright for Christmas and for fun ‘Find Me’ games with her Grandkids.

The baubles are an eclectic and classic selection of ornaments from all over the world, lovingly collected on her travels, memorable trips to Harrods and Macy’s in New York and from her local Swansea shops. They include quirky lobster, hamburger, Big Ben shaped baubles, Disney characters and sentimental baubles made by her grandkids and friends.

Sylvia’s favourite is a Royal Doulton Royal Jubilee celebration bauble, and said: “I do love the Queen, I think she is wonderful, and that bauble is very special.”

Born on Boxing Day, Christmas has always been special for Sylvia, and she has always tried to make it even more magical for her children and grandchildren. Describing her bauble collection, Sylvia said “They are an enjoyment. They are so beautiful and bright. It is exciting to see all the different types you can buy.”

The Christmas brooches in Adam Wide’s record-breaking collection are a dazzling delight – all 7,929 intricately catalogued and lovingly stored. Adam, originally from the UK but who now resides in Berlin has been collecting brooches since 1984 and in that time has amassed a collection which he says is now worth a whopping £350,000. His most valuable is a stunning plique a jour brooch made of platinum, diamonds, and rubies.

Adam started his collection by accident, one day he was browsing a Christmas market and came across a beautiful brooch. From there he started his hobby and now years later has the Guinness World Records title and has even added to the collection since the record was approved!

Adam Wide admits: “As soon as I started collecting, I was obsessed – it is fascinating!” Christmas brooches have been popular since Victorian times and Adam Wide’s collection reflects their glorious history.

His collection reveal brooches from every decade and made by the most respected design houses like Swarovski and designers like Stuart Freeman and the real ‘king of bling’ Stanley Hadley who created stunning jewellery for the stars including Liza Minelli and Bette Midler.

“One of the great things about collecting brooches is that it is accessible to everyone. You can start off as I did, buying just a small brooch in Copenhagen and before you know it you have over 8000!”

Craig Glenday, Editor in Chief at Guinness World Records said: “We all need a bit of yuletide cheer right now, and records like these really put a smile on your face. Adam and Nana Baubles clearly have an infectious passion for Christmas and have created their own record-breaking winter wonderlands at home. It’s wonderful to be able to share their joy of the festive season with the rest of the world.”
