A Great Year for Caplor Energy Although it has been a challenging year in many ways, we are so pleased with the work we have achieved here at Caplor Energy throughout 2021. We have been installing renewable technologies into homes, businesses and communities across Herefordshire and further afield. However, this year we’ve had highlights, not just within Caplor Energy, but also highlights that head towards a greener future. Key highlights of 2021:Renewable heating technologies are growing. Over 50% of all heat pump installations have been within 2021It is now 50% cheaper to generate renewable energy than using fossil fuelsGrants and subsidies are now available for businesses and homeowners to benefit from installing renewable technologies on their premisesThe performance of renewable energy is constantly evolving, such as battery storage and heat pumpsKey targets have been set to reach net-zero in 2050 We would like to take this opportunity to thank our community for working with us. We are so excited to see what 2022 will bring for renewable technologies and the environment. We hope to continue to build meaning relationships with our customers as we guide them towards a greener future. 2021 has been a critical year for action against climate change 2021 has been a crucial year as it has tested the world’s ability to take action against the severe threat that is posed against climate change. COVID-19 pushed back major environmental summits that were supposed to take place in 2020, such as COP26. The risks posed by climate change, such as extreme weather events, floods and droughts, increased a sense of urgency about environmental action at COP26. This meant Government leaders have created several commitments to limit the temperature increase to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels. 2021 has also shown us that there are still plenty of actions that we can take as individuals, against climate change. Positive measures, such as using renewable technologies, not only reduce greenhouse gas contributions but also generates momentum in the green energy movement, sending a strong message to policyholders. Although there are still plenty of actions that need to be taken, not just by us as individuals, but by Government leaders, we are heading in the right direction. The targets that have been set to achieve net-zero by 2050 are beginning to drive a shift towards alternative options towards a greener, more sustainable future. Read more hereIn the last five years, Caplor has been successfully installing heat pumps across Herefordshire and further afield. In that time the technology has surged as now are on track to complete our 200th heat pump installation by the end of 2021. Of these installations, over 50% will have taken place in 2021 alone. This surge in demand has undoubtedly been facilitated by government policy through schemes such as The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (DRHI), which closes in March 2022. However, this scheme is being replaced by the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS), in April 2022, which will allow homeowners to benefit from a £5,000 grant towards their low-carbon heating systems. We welcome this positive step towards further initiatives in support of the UK’s green energy transition.Read the full article hereOur favourite installs of 2021Throughout the last year, we have completed some fantastic installs, and we are grateful for every single one.
