Dancing On Ice causes Google searches for ‘Ice Skating Lessons’ to skyrocket by 669%

New analysis of Google search data shows online searches for ‘ice skating lessons’ skyrocketed by 669% in the UK, on the 16th January as ‘Dancing on Ice’ aired it’s first show of the year. 

New analysis by entertainment experts CasinoGuide, found that searches for ice skating lessons has risen almost seven times the average searches, according to Google trends data.  

Research also found an increased search rate over nine times the average Google search for ‘ice skating lessons near me’, showing a rise in interest for people who are after local lessons. 

A spokesperson for CasinoGuide said “This data offers a fasinating insight into the interest in ice skating lessons surging as a result of the fourteenth season of Dancing On Ice getting under way.

The high intensity sport is one that requires trust and intensive training, and offers a higher element of risk than most sports. It is interesting to see just how impactful a slot on primetime television can have and with lessons available, this can open up new career options for many or simply be a fun hobby to start”.
