Dear Editor,
Without the extraordinary dedication of our volunteers, it would not be possible to run our Childline service that is there for children and young people every day of the year â and it certainly wouldnât have been possible without them over the past couple of years.
We would like to thank and express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of our volunteer counsellors, in our Cardiff and Prestatyn Childline bases, who work hard to support and listen without judgement to children and young people about anything that may be worrying them.
As we head into a new year, the demand is as high as ever and our need for new volunteers rarely goes away. Thatâs why we will continue to seek the support of adults in our communities, who are keen for a volunteer role thatâs as challenging as it is rewarding.
If your readers would like to find out more and see if giving a few hours a week to be there for children and young people is something they would like to commit to, they can visit https://www.nspcc.org.uk/support-us/volunteering-nspcc-childline/volunteer-childline-helpline. We ask successful applicants, who will receive a comprehensive training package, to give a minimum 4.25 hours per week as a Childline counsellor.
