High Fives Rangers ! Mumbles Rangers kept up their momentum in the West Wales Premier League by taking all three points in this comprehensive 5-1 defeat of Cwm Wanderers.

It took four second half goals from Rangers to seal the win after Rangers spurned good opportunities in the first half. As early as the fourth minute in the game Rangers centre back Liam Brown should have scored from a close range header that narrowly missed the target having out jumped the the visitors defence.

Cwm Wanderers to their credit pushed forward at every opportunity and ten minutes played Wanderers young forward Jacob Sadler was unlucky to see his long range shot cannon off the top of the Rangers crossbar. Rangers were dominating play and Rangers forward Elliot Smith was a constant threat to the visitors defence.

Rangers had a couple of goals chalked off for offside. Elliot Smith finally got the reward for his efforts when team mate Ricky Kerr unleashed a shot at goal which rebounded into the path of Elliot Smith to apply the finish needed to put Rangers in front in this game. Rangers continued to press forward but couldnā€™t add to their opening strike due some last minute defending and saves from Wanderers goalkeeper Thomas Gallacher. With two minutes of the half to play Wanderers broke free and some good interplay resulted in Jacob Sadler scoring to make the game all square at 1-1.

As the half time blew Rangers should have been well clear of their opponents but Cwm Wanderers were still very much in the game. The second half started without the Wanderers goalkeeper Gallacher due to an injury sustained in the first half. Rangers proceeded to take a grip on the game and it was Rangers Captain who in the 52nd minute capitalised on a Wanderers defensive lapse by twisting and turning his low shot into the right hand corner of the net to restore Rangers lead 2-1.

Cwm Wanderers continued to press and Rangers goalkeeper Callum Andrews had to make some finger tip saves. However in the 63rd minute Rangers Elliot Smith broke free and aimed a low shot that was part parried by the goalkeeper but the pace on the ball took it into the visitors goal net to make it 3-1 to the home side and a more comfortable score line.

Rangers added a fourth goal on 71 minutes when Elliot Smith assisted substitute Tom Jones to get on the score sheet. 4-1 With ten minutes left in the game Rangers veteran substitute striker Kevin Bartley set up his Captain Chrissy Allen to score Rangers 5th goal. 5-1. That was the end of the scoring as the referee blew the final whistle.

So a brace of goals for Rangers Elliot Smith and Captain Chrissy Allen would please Rangers Manager Eirian Rees to see his strike force grabbing some vital goals and more importantly see his team in good form at the business end of the season.
