A man has been fined £75 after he failed to clean up after his dog in Lower Trostre Road in Llanelli.
He was seen by council environmental enforcement officers who were on patrol in the area at the time of the offence.
The 65-year-old was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice, which if he does not pay, could lead to prosecution in court where the maximum fine is £1,000.

Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said: “The majority of dog owners are responsible; however those that fail to clean up after their dogs will be fined.

“Not only is it extremely unpleasant if you step in it but dog mess can have serious health implications.”
It is hoped this fine will help to deter others. Enforcement officers carry out patrols across Carmarthenshire seven days a week.
