Pembrey Country Park has been given a glowing write up in a national magazine.

The VW Bus T4 & T5 has singled out the park for its diversity in a double paged spread of their September issue.

It reads: “Pembrey Country Park has become a world-class attraction and will pacify the most hard-to-please holidaymaker. There is an eight-mile stretch of beach with a vast dune system framing the diversely wooded hinterland.

The sand is lovely clean stuff you just want to dig your toes into. Combine that with a warm breeze and enough space to disappear, on the day it was as close to any paradise I’ve ever been to.”
The magazine also credited the 550-acre woodland park for it being widely signposted, the campsite for its generous sized level grassy pitches and the visitor centre’s staff being a font of knowledge.

It goes on to say: “The endless sands at low tide literally look like they go on forever and that’s saying something from someone who grew up in Australia.”

In July, the park won a Leisure and Tourism award and in March this year it was awarded a certificate of excellence by one of the world’s largest online travel sites, TripAdvisor. In addition Cefn Sidan beach achieved Blue Flag status for the 23rd time earlier this year.

The council’s executive board member for leisure, Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “I can’t say it enough that Pembrey Country Park is such a beautiful place and it’s here on our doorstep. The park has everything for the whole family and I’m delighted to see that it’s being recognised globally.”
