People from Llanelli can now benefit from learning new digital skills at their local library.

Volunteers and staff from Carmarthenshire Communities First are providing a free four-week iPad course at Llanelli Library on Wednesday mornings. Learners are introduced to using the tablets, how to navigate around the different apps, how to use online sites and access their emails on the tablet devices.

Carmarthenshire’s libraries are already actively involved with Communities First housing their homework clubs, Jobs clubs and various training and workshops.

Communities First has worked closely with Llanelli Library in delivering a number of community courses.

Executive board member for regeneration Cllr Meryl Gravell said: “With more people than ever interested in learning more about the internet the free course is already proving to be very popular with local residents.

“No prior knowledge of Tablet devices is required and this is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the devices in an informal and friendly environment.”

If you would like to find out more information or book a place on the course then please contact Communities First on 01554 777580 or pop into Llanelli Library to register for the next available course.
