BALLET fans are in for a treat with the screening of Romeo and Juliet in Swansea this week.
The Royal Ballet’s Romeo and Juliet will be broadcast live from London’s Royal Opera House to Swansea’s Big Screen in Castle Square on Tuesday evening (September 22) at 7.30pm.
Kenneth MacMillan’s ballet of Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers is a classic of 20th Century ballet. Young lovers Romeo and Juliet defy their warring families to begin a breathless affair – one that will change the course of their lives forever.
Created for The Royal Ballet in 1965, it’s a key work in the company’s repertory and a must-see for ballet fans and newcomers alike.
People are invited to bring blankets and picnics along for the screening. Free deckchairs will be available on site.
Swansea’s Big Screen will also be showing live coverage of all the Rugby World Cup games right up to the final on October 31.
