A plaque was presented to him on Friday 11 March by Committee Chair Councillor Elizabeth Evans. Governance and Audit Committees of local authorities exist to provide to those charged with governance independent assurance on the adequacy of the Council’s risk management framework, internal control environment and integrity of the financial reporting and annual governance processes. They are necessary to satisfy the wider requirements for sound financial requirements and internal control, which the public rightly expect from their elected representatives.
The Committee is currently made up of 6 County Councillors and 1 Lay Member but, to comply with recent legislation, from 5 May 2022 the committee will have 6 County Councillors and 3 Lay Members involved.
