Bursting with colour, innovation and fun stuff to do, The Green Gathering returns to Piercefield Park, near Chepstow from 4th – 7th August 2022.  Celebrating its 10th Birthday, this long-anticipated festival is set to be the party not to be missed.

Every Day is Dress Up Day at The Green Gathering

And to get into the party spirit, the team invites festival-goers to wear their fanciest, most colourful and frivolous clothes, immerse themselves in the celebration and be the biggest, shiniest versions of themselves.

The festival challenges visitors to not buy anything new but create festival outfits with the garments they already own, raid their wardrobes, mix and match and sport their most outrageous, sparkly, dramatic and silly combinations.  “Just slip your glad-rags into your bag and emerge from your tent like a beautiful butterfly.”

Flamenco dresses, ballgowns, top hats and tails, tiger suits, tasselled bikinis and rainbow stripes, nothing is too over the top.

Birthday celebrations continue with a line-up of legendary festival favourites and up and coming talent showcasing brilliant music, cabaret, comedy and poetry.  The festival is rolling over some of the postponed 2021 bands to create a reunion of artistic talent and adding exciting new acts into the mix too.  Look out for boogie act Rosco Shakes, folk singer-songwriter Hannah Scott, foot-stomping festival band One Eyed God, and alternative hip hop collective The High Breed.

New initiatives for 2022 include The Green Gathering Grove, a peaceful circle of trees planted over the winter by a group of volunteers, ‘Moon Loos’, dedicated toilets with additional facilities for people having periods, and a new area highlighting ‘Transformative Adaptation’ – methods for accepting and working with the reality and grief of climate change and biodiversity loss, while remaining positive and focused on solutions.

Beyond Hedonism, The Green Gathering is a place to party, then wake up the next morning and put the world to rights with your new mates from the night before! Join us, share wisdom and skills, find friends old and new, weave and weld and tell stories. Be inspired. Take the festival spirit home with you…”

Tickets can be purchased from ticket agent ‘The Ticketsellers’ via a direct link from The Green Gathering website.
