Plaid Cymru Assembly Candidate Helen Mary Jones and the Plaid Cymru Llanelli team have officially launched their campaign for next May’s Assembly Election.
There were speeches by Helen and Sean Rees, Plaid Llanelli Campaign Manager.
Firstly, a campaign hoarding was unveiled at the Plaid Cymru offices in Llanelli.
The local campaign slogan is ‘A Strong Voice For Llanelli’ ‘Llais Cryf Dros Lanelli’ because that’s what Llanelli now needs, an Assembly member who has a strong proven track record and can be trusted to deliver for the interests of our communities.
At the launch, there was also a large presence of young people too with ‘Plaid Ifanc Llanelli’ now being the largest youth movement of any political party in Llanelli.
Following the unveiling of the hoarding, the new campaign website (plaidllanelli.wales) and facebook page (Helen Mary Jones, Plaid Cymru Assembly Candidate for Llanelli) were launched.
Although this was an official launch, Helen and the Plaid Cymru team have already been out campaigning over recent months with a community survey in order to listen to people’s views to base the party’s policies around people’s day to day experiences.
Helen Mary Jones, Plaid Llanelli Assembly candidate said:
‘The energy and commitment of the Plaid Llanelli Team on display at yesterday’s launch was a real inspiration.
“Building on the hard work we’ve been doing over the past five months I’m really looking forward to taking Plaid’s positive message to people across Llanelli in the coming months setting out Plaid’s ideas for building our economy, creating jobs and delivering world class public services. There’s a lot of work for us to do. And now’s the time for us to do it.”
Sean Rees, Campaign Manager added:
“Llanelli needs Helen Mary Jones. With Helen’s positive vision and dedication combined with the passion and commitment of the Plaid Llanelli team, we can and will spread our message of hope and fairness for our communities.
“It’s time to have an alternative, progressive party in Government which is ready to offer the strong leadership and fresh thinking that Llanelli needs and that party is us in Plaid Cymru. Llanelli needs an Assembly Member who will work with and for the people of our area to defend all our public services.”
