Pembrokeshire County Council’s Children’s Social Services recently held a STAR Awards event, the acronym standing for Sharing Talent And Recognising Success.

The evening celebrated the achievements, talents and successes of children, young people and foster carers supported by Pembrokeshire County Council.

Held at Pembrokeshire College, there were awards for Learner of the Year”, Personal Development, Outstanding Achievement and a Your Choice category to be chosen by those nominating the person for the award.

Awards were presented to those under 18 years, 18 and over and foster carers.

Sponsored by RWE’s Pembroke Power Station’s Community Fund, the celebrations included live music and entertainment followed by the ceremony itself in the Merlin Theatre.

It culminated in a free raffle draw with prizes donated by numerous local businesses.

County Councillor Sue Perkins, Cabinet Member for Education And Safeguarding said: “It was a real pleasure to present awards and to play a part in celebrating the amazing achievements of children, young people and foster carers in Pembrokeshire.

“We are extremely grateful to staff, local businesses and organisations that supported this event that helped to make it a success. Time and time again they willingly support these worthy events”
