St Davids Library looks set for a secure future thanks to support from the City Council.
An agreement between Pembrokeshire County Council and St Davids City Council, to share costs has put the library on a sound financial footing.
This means that library users in the city will continue to enjoy a professionally delivered library service with no reduction to opening hours.
In addition both councils have agreed to work together to provide volunteering opportunities for people to enable an extension of opening hours at the library.
The County Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Councillor Elwyn Morse, said he was delighted that the two councils had reached an agreement to make the library financially sustainable.
“We look forward to working closely with the City Council to extend opening times at the library through volunteering opportunities,” he said.
The Mayor of St Davids City Council, Councillor Frank John, said he was pleased that the City Council was able to assist in such a worthwhile collaboration for the benefit of the community.
St Davids library is located in St Davids City Hall and is open on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s between 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm
