BAD WEATHER ADVICE FOR SCHOOL / PUBLIC TRANSPORT USE

Users of both school and public transport in Carmarthenshire are being reminded to wrap up warm and beware of possible disruption during bad weather.
The councilā€™s passenger transport unit is urging residents to be prepared as the weather turns colder.
TheĀ Home to School / College Code of ConductĀ for pupils using school transport states that in cases of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, there may be temporary alterations to the transport provided. In some circumstances it may not be possible to operate a route at all, or to serve only part of the route.
If a school/college route does not operate in the morning due to inclement weather conditions but you choose to take your child(ren) to school yourself, then you will also need to make arrangements to collect your child(ren) at the end of the school day.
For instant updates on school transport disruptions, like theĀ councilā€™s Facebook pageĀ or follow @CarmsCouncil onĀ Twitter.
TheĀ council websiteĀ is also kept up-to-date with any weather disruptions.
Public transport users may also face delays or cancellations during severe weather and are urged to check theĀ Traveline Cymru websiteĀ or keep an eye on their Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Executive Board Member for Transport Cllr Hazel Evans said: ā€œParents and pupils need to be aware that there may be cancellations or delays to school transport during times of bad weather, and to make sure they dress accordingly. The same applies to users of public transport.
ā€œWith winter weather on its way, I would encourage people to sign up to the councilā€™s social media services for instant updates on disruptions to all council services.ā€
