National Peach Month – What Peach Flavour Combinations are The US States’ Favourites

August is National Peach Month! Peach is a sumptuously sweet fruit flavor with a hint of sourness, and the pairing possibilities are endless. From desserts to squash flavors, peach is a popular flavor to mix and match. In light of National Peach Month and flavor experts at Hookah-Shisha.com decided to take a look at the favorite peach pairings in each state of the US, and the results are in.

Looking at monthly search volume data from Keyword Planner, they analyzed the topmost searched for peach combinations by state.

Key findings include:

• The most popular peach flavor combination across the whole of the US is Peach & Orange, with 2,820 monthly searches.
• Peach & Plum is also, perhaps surprisingly, a preferred peach pairing across the country, coming in behind Peach & Orange in many states, including Georgia, Massachusetts, California, North Carolina, and more!
• Peach & Apricot was another top flavor combination in Arkansas, California, Florida, New York, and Texas.

But which states are searching most for peach combinations? 

1. California

California was the state who searched most for peach combinations. And it’s unsurprising considering the state is the top US supplier of peaches, supplying around 56% of the US’ fresh peaches and 96% of processed peaches (NASS, 2021). In 2021, California produced 505 thousand tons of peaches, out of a total 688.8 tons harvested by the US in total (Statista, 2022). 

Orange & Peach flavor combination was their most searched for peach blend, making up 33% of the overall search volume, followed by Peach & Apricot (26%), Peach & Plum (16%) and Peach & Apple (10%). 

1. Texas

Out of the peach flavor combinations that Hookah Shisha looked at, Texas came in at second for the highest search volume around these terms. Unsurprisingly, once again Peach & Orange had the most search volume within the state at 43% of all terms analyzed, and second was Peach & Apricot at 22%, mirroring the US data. 

1. New York 

Although New York might not be quite as famous as California, South Carolina, and Georgia for their peaches and peach production in the US, the state does grow over 2000 acres of peaches (Cornell University, 2022), and the state has several peach picking orchards for people to enjoy, including Eastmont Orchards, Fishkill Farms, Prospect Hill Orchards, and more (Timeout, 2020). So, it’s unsurprising that the state had the third highest search volume around peach combinations. 

1. Florida 

Finally, coming in just shy of third place is Florida. The top searched for peach flavors in the state were Peach & Orange, Peach & Apricot, Peach & Plum, and Peach & Apple. An interesting fact about Florida’s peaches is that their trees are the first of all the states in the United States to have ripe and marketable peaches each year!
