Jessica Willock, home insurance expert at Confused.com, says:
“Due to more postal strikes today and tomorrow, it’s likely that disruptions will affect the whole UK network again. To try and minimise this, some retailers might opt to use different partners during this time. “If you find that your expected delivery is delayed during the strikes, you should reach out to the retailer directly. That’s because they’re responsible for getting your items to you and should be able to give you an update on where your delivery is. It’s also the retailer’s responsibility to ensure that your parcel arrives in one piece.
So if you find your delivery arrives damaged, you have the right to reject it. You should always take photographic evidence and let the retailer know if this happens so that they can investigate. “It’s also worth remembering that these rules apply all year round, no matter if there are postal strikes or not. Our guide on lost parcel advice can advise you on what to do if you ever find your undelivered items are ever lost, damaged or even stolen.
