Theatrau Sir Gâr are excited to be welcoming Black RAT Productions and Blackwood Miners’ Institute this Halloween season as their brand-new show, The Invisible Man, appears (and disappears!) at the Lyric Theatre, Carmarthen on 20th October at 7:30pm and the Ffwrnes Theatre, Llanelli on 2nd November at 7:30pm.
Black RAT Productions are a firm favourite with Carmarthenshire audiences, having toured with a variety of innovative theatre, including, The 39 Steps (2015), Bouncers (2016), One Man, Two Guvnors (2017), and Loot (2018). Now they return with their brand-new horror/sci-fi comedy, written and directed by Richard Tunley and with original songs by Kieran Bailey and illusions created by Stefan Pejic. The production is designed by Sean Crowley and Ruby Brown, with lighting design by Robin Bainbridge.
The Invisible Man’s multi- talented cast – Zoe Davies, Jemima Nicholas, Ryan Owen and Sam Jones – perform more than 20 roles between them, using physical comedy, song, improvisation, magic and illusion to re-tell the classic story in a fresh new setting.
Based on the H.G. Wells classic bestseller, The Invisible Man is set in Wales in 1933, when the film starring Claude Rains is terrifying cinema audiences worldwide. The workforce of Aberllanpencwm Workingman’s Hall is welcoming excited
audiences for screenings of the newly-released film, but due to technical difficulties, the cinema employees are forced to tell the tale themselves. Events unfurl and strange things begin to happen. Are these simply coincidences, or down to the invisible man himself?…
